Aphrodite, Goddess of Cyprus or Arya Stark?

Blue Cypress

The latest in the Goddess series is this rendering of an ancient Cyprus figure Aphrodite, goddess of love.

From the Kyprios Character website:

From the end of the 19th century, scholars have been searching for the origin of the Greek Aphrodite, the goddess of love. For some, she was a blond goddess from the North, of Indo-European origin. For others, she came from the Orient. But for the Ancient Greeks she was the goddess of Cyprus, born from the foam of the sea and worshipped in Paphos. References in ancient authors and archaeological evidence may prove that Aphrodite originated in Cyprus.

This figure also reminds me of Arya Stark from GOT.

  1. Reminds me more of African fetish art, sculptures in particular, especially with the exaggerated form.

As usual Dwayne you keep evolving through subjects and continue to illuminate the world.
