Building the beast

Working with stencils.

I used printable overhead transparency, which I cut with an exacto knife after printing.

The image above was done using gouache. After the initial stencil passes, I did brushwork with watercolor.

Stopping by the hardware store, I discovered water based spray paint. Specifically, a product I did not know existed, inversion marker spray paint.
