Continuing work on Playground. The end is in sight. I don’t know if I can do much more with the foreground, but the sky could use a bit more work.
Since it’s hard to capture the nuances of the dark area in a photo, I’m including a detail to help illustrate:
This painting goes against the grain of work I usually do. Instead of details and clarity, I’m going for soft edges and ambiguity.
It’s been a learning experience, but not sure about the result. I am intrigued by the playground subject matter. A playground has great overlapping lines and shapes, and it’s also a metaphor for life. So there may be more playground paintings in the future.
