A sketch from a trip to Milwaukee. My son, Fred, is in the foreground, my mom (Agnes) in the kitchen. The relative sizes of the two figures is exaggerated by their places in space, but in fact Fred is much taller than my mom (and most normal sized people).
In the other side of the room sits my step father, Jerry. You can’t see him, but he is represented by the Purple Heart medal hanging on the wall in a case above Fred’s head. Jerry was in the Air Force in WWII. He saw combat, and was shot down and taken prisoner.
