Back to the easel today, to add layers to the portrait of William ‘Chi Chi’ Ledesma.
I worked up, down and across the entire board. Trying to add character to the background, I added a unbleached titanium white, white, grey and a dab of muted green to a gradient mix. The shirt got more layers of violet/red/blue tints. I think the shirt needs to be more red; maybe a glaze will do the trick.
Reflected hues from the shirt and background were added to the face and arms. I need to put some serious attention into defining his left hand. And the features need more definition and toning.

I love the colors and shading of this. Great work.
