Today I added layers of paint. This is an important part of the process. It’s not just about getting the right lines and colors. Lines and colors don’t work unless the surface has integrity. For me, that means painting layers upon layers upon layers. If I keep at it, and am lucky, the overlapping will give the canvas board character.
I added another green layer to the back. The skin shading is too timid; I need to go Van Gogh on it.
The hair needs more something . . . I’m hoping (again) that persistent paint layering will win the day.
